The Committee on Environmental Climate Justice shall: 1. Advocate for public awareness and increased engagement of African American communities on the issue of environmental, climate change and energy reform policies; 2. Promote and advocate linkages between environmental quality and social justice; 3. Advocate environmental and climate justice strategies to include Sustainability (Recycling and Carbon Footprint), Evaluation of elected officials (Report card on position on environmental issues and legislative efforts), Location of waste sites(Landfills, meta/concrete crushers, etc), Regulatory advocacy, Food Deserts, Emergency Management/Natural Disaster and Foster collaborations and partnerships with environmental allies.
